The drudge report just came out and said McCain will make his Veep nom tis week. Speculations is Bobby Jindal or Rudy. I personally doubt Rudy since there is speculation he wants to run for Gov.

This will now be interesting since Jindal is only 37 and his resume is just as thin as Obamas.

I bet he will also announce that Lieberman will be DOD or DOS, and Romney will be somehow in his cabinet…Treasury?

I’m glad he was listening when I suggested in another thread that announcing his VP would be a great way to take some of the steam out of Obama’s Mideast trip. LOL.

Does anyone wonder if there is someone on the either candidates campaign that uses sites like this as informal polling?

Think about it, it would be a cheap way to poll the country!

No I am not on either candidates campaign, I just thought about it as I read through the posts…wouldn’t that be a hoot!

BTW I believe McCain will chose Crist. It makes sense for electoral reasons. It would just be too hard for McCain to defend the lack of Jindals experience when he has attacked Obama all this time

Tega: I did read the entire article some time ago (without paying) but I can’t remember how I got to it. I know it was not through this direct link. Maybe if you googled?

Jindal has also signed into law an education bill that allows the teaching of creationism; it’s making some people nervous. The interesting thing is that he was a biology major and once considered a career in medicine.

I actually think it’s kind of interesting that people think the Republicans would seriously consider selecting Charlie Crist as the VP candidate, given just how many “stories” there have been about him, for just how many years. Do a google search for Charlie Crist and “gay,” and you’ll find 385,000 results. Or look at this one article from a couple of years ago, as a single example: [Charlie Crist Is NOT Gay, page 1 - News - Broward-Palm Beach New Times - Broward-Palm Beach New Times](http://www.browardpalmbeach.com/2006-10-19/news/charlie-crist-is-not-gay/).

Do I think it’s true, based on what I’ve heard from people “off the record”? Probably. Do I care whether it’s true or not? No. Do I think it’s slanderous to bring it up? Absolutely not – I don’t think being gay is a bad thing. Do I really believe the Republicans would risk someone coming up with a “smoking gun,” given how many people whose votes they’re seeking consider gay people to be pretty much spawn of the devil? No.

I guess you should not tell Carol Rome he is gay!

Also let me get this right the accusations came from another candidate for governor. That the media spent tons of money and couldn’t prove it…I am sure that McGreevy from NJ wished he had the same fortune as Crist!

As I said, I really don’t care whether it’s true or not. But the rumors were hardly limited to one source. They’ve been around forever. And marrying a woman after 30 years of being single is hardly evidence that someone never had sexual relations with men. Don’t be absurd.

By the way, what sort of “proof” do you think would be satisfactory, short of photographs or a confession? There have certainly been enough men claiming that they had sex with him.

My point was simple: it doesn’t really matter if it’s true or not. I’m not saying he is gay or bisexual. What I’m saying is that it surprises me that the Republicans would seriously consider nominating someone for VP about whom such an issue has even been raised – particularly given the problems McCain has had, at least to date, energizing the “religious right.”

If they do select him, I guess they’re banking on the assumption of a lot of people (including razorsharp, apparently) that if someone’s married, that means they must be 100% heterosexual. Unless they’re a Democrat. Or Larry Craig.

I think Crist is gay, also, and I couldn’t possibly care less. I support gay marriage wholeheartedly. I can’t see him being VP, really I can’t. Because I think he’s gay.
