Alex I believe that is correct. It means that you are in the running but closer to the minima.
Congrats on Arts!

Congrats on Arts!
Submitted my first semester grade yesterday and applied Oct 31 for life sciences, and the status is currently still “further review required”. When would be a possible date they release the decision?
@clivzlrive It depends on your stats. The closer to the minimum requirements, the later the decision.

@ swimmingdad We are also waiting on desaulte. Why do you say rejected as expected? Also, if you don’t mind, what is he planning to study through the faculty of Arts? Do they offer business?
I submitted by semester grades on Jan. 31st I think my school is still sending them out but my status changed on Monday to Reviewed-decision pending. I am applying to the faculty of arts. I’ve read that this status isn’t necessarily a good thing but its odd because some people hear back soon or after weeks so I’m super confused. Does anyone have any words of wisdom?
@surferg127 The closer your stats are to the minimum requirements the longer you wait.
@umassbound Desautels has become increasingly difficult to get into. My S17 was rejected saying he met the standards but there wasn’t space (or something like that). At this point I believe they are looking for a 3.7 uw or so…that simply wasn’t my S19. He had the ACT score…but not the GPA (in my opinion).
My S17 is studying Economics (with a minor in poli sci) in the Faculty of Arts. He has taken an accounting class in Deautels and is taking marketing this semester. So not business per se but he is getting a phenomenal education. Worked in private equity last summer. This summer, he wants to do something in VR/AR either a marketing or partnership role. (Anyone in Boston or Montreal reading this - ping me with ideas!)
Feel free to PM me with questions. I’m happy to help!
@surferg127 Your stats? Where are you versus the minima? Also, don’t get discourage. The McGill process is different…patience is definitely required.
I’m thinking my stats are somewhere near the minima. I’m a U.S. high school student that applied for the faculty of arts. My GPA unweighted is probably somewhere at a 3.8/4.00 but my SAT scores are definitely on the weak side… I couldn’t get anything above the 1200 range. I’ve taken AP U.S history, AP Lang, AP Environmental, AP U.S Gov, AP Comparative government, AP Photography, AP Spanish, AP English literature and AP Psychology. I’ve taken rigorous classes and my GPA weighted from my junior and senior year is probably around 4.4/4.5 weighted. I just know that my SAT is super weak and I am very self-conscious about it. I’ve always excelled in my classes but struggled with standardized tests. I hope this helps other people who are trying to see where their application stands. You’re all extremely helpful with this whole process!!
