McGill as a safety?

I don’t know whether I should consider McGill to be a safety or match (or reach) considering its standing among Canadian universities.

ACT: 32, 36 (10 in writing both times)
SAT: 2210
GPA: W-4.98, UW-3.9… probably top 20 out of 256 seniors
APs: four 5s (microecon, us history, bc calc, eng lang), one 4 (french lang)

Since McGill essentially focuses on numbers, I hope this is enough…

Also, does a family’s financial situation play a role in McGill’s acceptance policies? In other words, is McGill need-blind?

Thanks!!

That looks pretty safe to me (assuming they’ll be looking at your second ACT score).

I think McGill is need-blind in admissions decisions, but they don’t necessarily supply 100% of need. How much financial aid you get at McGill is definitely influenced by merit considerations as well as need.

McGill will love your 32 ACT–as would 99% of U.S. colleges & universities. But you should also let them know about your 36 ACT for possible merit scholarship awards.

at a school that looks at numbers, safety is pretty safe (pun intended).

I got a 32 on my ACT as well, my saving grace towards getting into McGill. How the heck did you get a 36???
