McGill = M-azing

hehe stupid title. btw did anyone try the new m-azing bar? anyhoo did anyone get a call from a current mcgill student asking you whether u had any questions or not? well k i’m gonna share my experience cause it definitely even made me more sure that mcgill is the perfect fit for me.

so i get the call and she’s an int’l student from new zealand and ALSO doing bachelor of science in physiology which is what i wanna do! AND she does all these extracurricular activities that i wanna do. basically, i feel like she’s me with a new zealand accent. and i like basically bombarded her with questions and i felt really bad taking up her time but i couldn’t help it! and with every question i had, if she couldn’t answer it, she’d asked the ppl around her or give me the phone #. based on the answers she gave me, it really calmed my fears about the class size and research opportunities, etc, and even though she admitted that getting good grades is tough, her advice on study habits and things really is calming somehow. the conversation lasted over an hour and now that i’m reflecting on it, and reflecting on harpgirl and rideltrain and all these other amazing and helpful ppl from mcgill who help us, it makes me really happy to know that i’m going to a school where students aren’t cut throat, opportunities stretch across the world, and the profs aren’t stuck up, etc, etc, etc. i’m sorry if i’m ranting on and on but i’m just sooooooo happy about mcgill. so yes, my point being, i love mcgill!

lol, I think the reason why she was so much like you was because they pair you up with current students who are doing the same kinda stuff you’ve applied for. That’s great that you’re so excited though. When I got my package from mcgill I already felt like I was at the school and just picking next semester’s courses or whatnot. It feels great.

i got a call too. the girl i had was american but that was the end of our similarities.

you have to accept the offer before you get a call right?

probably…i accepted the offer of course! lol

upsided–i live in PA too!!!

wait did she just randomly call you

or did u have to email mcgill and ask them to get someone to call u?

no i didn’t accept the offer. and i don’t know if i’m going to.

yeah she randomly called, but i think you can sign up to have someone call you on the website too.

PA is chill.

will they call u if ure all the way in Pakistan:P i doubt it…

Community of class of 2009…

My D received a call. She has not accepted and did not request a call. Most of the schools she applied to have done this.

ya they just randomly call

mcgill (and most other schools) usually use volunteer students to contact admitted students to see if they have questions etc. its a good thing, and i think they call randomly.

if I’d prefer them to call my cell, should I change my primary number on minerva to my cell? Also, do they call everyone or do they randomly select people to call?

i think if you go to the http://www.mcgill.ca/newstudents/phoneathon/</a>
mcgill in mind website there you can register for them to call you. and u can give them a number?
