I just bought the 2008 version with the cd and I just heard that its not that great. So should I take it back and get a better book? What do you recommend?

I heard that it does have some good sections in it that are fine and if u can don’t return it just buy other books. If i remember correctly mcgraww and hill have alot of practice tests in them so even if they’re not of the highest caliber of quality you do get a good amount of questions
however if you are limited to only one book i would suggest you return it and get either the Princeton review or the Official ACT book

If you only have that book and maybe one other ACT prep book, I would return it. I haven’t taken many tests in the book (from a previous year), but I saw a lot of errors and ambiguous questions in the English section that the real ACT test usually avoids. It may be helpful for practicing, but it won’t give you completely accurate scores… I agree that you should consider buying one (or both) of the books Dragonforce recommended.
