MCM course?

I’m signing up for courses now, and I’m interested in one of the MCM courses, but it seems pretty intense…

MC0010: Introduction to Media
It’s Monday and Wednesday from 1-1:50, which is fine.
But then it says there is lab every Monday and Tuesday from 7-11.
And then there is about an hour-long conference one day a week.

Now that’s about 10 hours in-class for 1 course if I’m reading it correctly, not including all the homework/papers due throughout the semester.

Am I reading it correctly, or is this just one intense class that you have to deal with?

Yeah, a lot of MCM classes have long “labs” but depending on the class, those might be spent watching films, etc.

The “conference” means discussion section.

I’d say shop it and see what it’s like.

Thats no different then almost any science lab course.

It’s different because there are two “labs” a week.

That said, watching movies isn’t really comparable to a science lab

I’m asking because I was told of an MCM course that everyone LOVED and tried to get into, and at the end, everyone gave the professor a standing ovation. I thought it was one of the intro classes (pretty general intros) but I could be wrong. It seems like MC0010 isn’t necessarily that class, so does anyone know which class it could be? Or am I in a completely wrong department lol??
