Hi,
I am transfering to ASU in spring 2011 as a junior. I am applying to live in The Tower or McClintock villas and I am wondering which meal plan I should pick. I know I have the option of not picking a meal plan, but I am afraid of being hungry. They have a few options, does anyone have any advice? Is 7 meals a week with 350 M&G dollars too much? Or should I get all M&G dollars? HELP!
Thanks,
Liz

It honestly depends how much you eat. The all M&G plan ends up being far too little if you’re planning on eating everyday.

Also, be aware that you can add M&G to your meal plan whenever you want to. If you’re out of meals, you can add M&G to your account and use that.

The best part about M&G is that if you add it yourself, it doesn’t disappear; you get it back if there’s some left over.

The good thing about actual “meals” though is that they are a set price, and that set price is lower for “meals” than it is for M&G. So you end up paying more PER MEAL when you use M&G.

I will let you know that any of the meals/week plans mean that you have to use that many meals a week, or you lose them; as in, if you get 7 meals a week and you only use 5 one week, two meals are gone. Forever.

Also: this forum is more general college questions, not something specific like this. Check out the ASU specific forum: [Arizona State University - College Confidential](Arizona State University - College Confidential Forums)

I also forgot to mention that you can change your meal plan (and get a refund) up to three weeks into each semester. If this is the route you’re most likely to take, I’d suggest getting one that is potentially too much, that way you get money back instead of having to pay more.
