Meal Plans

As an entering first-year in the fall, which is the most common meal plan?
The L, I, O, and N plans give dollar amounts, but they do not estimate a number of meals per week, or month, or anything like that. Does anyone have a good estimate?

D used O plan freshman year, it was just about right, spent a lot the last two weeks. She was pretty much twice a day eater, not much on weekends because getting fed on movie sets. Sophomore year went down to N, had to put a couple hundred into S plan to make it to end. Does get snack food at grocery store, eat out some. You can always add money with S plan.

The food on campus is very expensive. I bought the “I” plan the first year for my son figuring that would be plenty as he’s not a very big guy or a big eater. Had to put in several hundred dollars towards the end. If you are a girl and get free meals on weekends, then I plan is ok. If you are living on campus you will need the L plan and even that may not be enough due to the extremely high cost of food. Not sure why its so expensive. LMU or Sodexo is certainly making a hefty profit at the expense of parents doling out to feed their children.
