<p>All wars have reaped larger payouts. This isn’t new. Our society thrives during war when it comes to certain industries, so do others. </p>

<p>I don’t think we are becoming fantastically wealthy, but follwoing the routine economic path during war seen throughout history.</p>

<p>War (and most defense spending) is generally not the economic driver people assume it is. The broken window fallacy proves this quite clearly.</p>

<p>Just look at Vietnam, not exactly the brightest economy…</p>
