<p>I’ve been looking pretty hard for any ME or AE internships around the chicagoland area and can’t really seem to find anything. I currently go bradley university which is in peoria and it seems most of the ME/AE internships are around or south of peoria which is too far from my house in the suburbs of Chicago. I don’t mind a little travel nor any preference but i can’t seem to find anything any advice or suggestions?</p>
<p>also on a sidenote when i graduate would say I can find a job in the ME/AE field fairly easily in Illinois?</p>
<p>Why are you opposed to moving for the summer? Commuting to Chicago from Peoria is a HUGE haul anyway.</p>
<p>sorry maybe i wasn’t clear i live in chicago and i’m looking for a summer internship i go to school in peoria and so in the summer am going back to chicago and was hopeing to find an internship somewhere around chicago i don’t mind a slight commute but going to peoria is way to far and having to live in peoria for an internship would be expensive.</p>
<p>No you were clear. I am just ridiculous. My bad. There are many places in Chicagoland for mechanical engineers, but not so much for aerospace engineering. Your nearest best bet for aerospace will be Rockford (Hamilton-Sundstrand), Indianapolis (Rolls-Royce) or St. Louis (Boeing).</p>
