Mechanical Engineering Guide

I know for some of you this maybe a stupid question but…where else can I ask?
I just come to America for a year, studying at California State University Long Beach.I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering. Even though my school does not have a “concentration” in Aerospace, I’m going to take some aerospace classes as electives. I’ve joined SAE, ASME, AIAA and some rocket projects.

As the topic says, I want to hear advises from you guys. What should I do next? More specifically, I want to know which companies accept permanent residences, which mechanical part should I focus on (the part that is highly demanded in the market, especially in cars and airplanes) , what skills should i learn( programming, communication); thank you

I am by no means an expert, but I would recommend looking at job and internship postings. See what appears to be the most common type(s) of postings and then analyze the skills they are looking for. You will start to notice some general trends in what employers are looking for.
