I am currently in my second semester and I am wondering if there is any hope for me to be accepted into med school. I left my first semester of school after the death of two of my grandparents without resigning from the university. Basically my grades were all Fs and a D. This semester I plan to finish with a 4.0. What are the realistic chances that I will get into med school?

Too soon to say. It will depend on what your grades, MCAT and the rest of your resume looks like.

A truly horrible first semester is a bad way to start and as awful as it sounds the deaths of family members is not be an acceptance excuse for a tanked semester.
