<p>Is there a resource where we can read past med school personal essays? Also, another question, how do you know if a volunteering opportunity is right for you and if you will get anything out of it. How do you evaluate the experience?</p>
<p>I volunteered in the OR of a local hospital during high school and loved it. Now I’m at volunteering in the cardiac inpatient unit of my university’s hospital and I hate it because it’s so boring…the only reason I’m sticking with it is for med school and because I’m hoping I can switch to a different task there at the semester. I’d say volunteering is ALWAYS worth it, regardless of whether it’s in a hospital or elsewhere.</p>
