Medical Marijuana

I’ll be starting school this fall as a freshman and have recently been certified as a Michigan Medical Marijuana patient for Epileptic Seizures. I’m not one of those people who played the system to get high; I’m a real patient who didn’t smoke prior to getting certified. I’ve never been convicted of any crime.

I’ll be staying in a dorm this fall with a friend who is perfectly okay with me using my medicine in the room. My question is if the University is okay with that. I’ve got my doubts, so if I can’t are there any support groups/local spots where I would be able to use it? Is there a community site or student organization for MMM patients in East Lansing?

Thanks.

They should be fine with it. It’s a legitimate medicine. Just tell your housing person ahead of time.

^^^yeah it should be fine, just make sure to tell the housing people such as your RA/the main folks. Although it’s legal for you for everyone else there is a pretty harsh punishment for smoking pot in the dorms, and you don’t want an RA on rounds or a random person (who has no idea of your condition) to call the police on you.
