which sends more to medical school, Cal or UCLA?

From a quick glance at mdapplicants.com, it seems that UCLA does. But then again, that website does not present an accurate figure since not all premed students use it.

According to the AAMC, UCLA produces far more applicants than does Berkeley(744 vs. 574), and in fact, has more applicants than any other school in the country, by far. The closest would be Michigan, at 606.

Now, of course, that’s just applicants, not actual matriculants, as plenty of people who apply get rejected from every med-school they apply to. Still, I would surmise that UCLA probably produces more matriculants than does Berkeley, as while Berkeley may enjoy a higher placement rate (in other words, a higher percentage of applicants who actually get admitted somewhere), it’s hard for me to see how that could surmount the large difference in the sheer number of applicants (a difference of 170 applicants).
