Does anyone know what schools are around chicago that has a good affordable medical school?

Your most affordable medical schools are going to be those at which you are an in-state resident for. Even then, the costs are going be ~40,000 a year (I’m in-state and taking out loans for about 37,500 in Nebraska). Private schools are going be roughly 18-25k more per year. It’s incredibly expensive to educate doctors, and the tuition often doesn’t cover the cost of the education, but because state schools are subsidized by state legislatures it is cheaper to go there.

As for actual schools - I have no idea where U of I’s medical school.

Here are the Chicago area medical schools. U of I is, I believe, the least expensive, but only if one is an IL resident.
