Medical schools for splitters

Once again, ECs (research, shadowing and whatnot) are important for medical school but that’s not the topic here. I know that, on top of quality ECs, one might want to have both a high GPA and a high MCAT score. However, I’m sure these types of pre-meds exist (there are thousands upon thousands of pre-meds) so here goes:

A splitter (even though I heard that term most often in the context of law school, the definition is still applicable to med school by only having to change LSAT for MCAT) is a student that has a high MCAT and a low GPA. A 3.3/33 student is an example of a splitter to my eyes. Are there splitter-friendly med schools (MD or DO, although I think splitter-friendly schools are likely to be DO ones)?

A reverse-splitter is a student that has a high GPA and a low MCAT, a 3.95/27 for instance. Are there schools that weigh GPA more than the MCAT?

This chart may help you get an idea of the success rates of splitter or unbalanced applicants.

I would say that both types on unbalanced students are seen at DO schools.

Yes, about DO schools.

However, depending on what state you’re in, then sometimes some instate publics are forgiving as well. What state are you in? Are you male or female? Are you a URM?

It’s not because I am myself applying to med school that I am asking that question, but because others on CC could benefit from the answer.

For the record, I am an Asian male (so that would play against me at many med schools in the US, MD or DO) that only had two of the medical prereqs (math and physics) and I didn’t take the MCAT myself either… and even if I wanted to, the only med schools I could possibly want to attend are not splitter-friendly by any means. I ruled out med school back in high school, and I do not intend to reconsider that stance for the time being.
