Medical Spanish

<p>Anyone have a good recommendation for a reference book to study up on using medical Spanish in the field?</p>

<p>Funny you ask. I just saw one put out by Kaiser for their translator vocabulary requirements. I’m not sure if they are generally available, but one could try to track down the right office and ask!</p>

<p>This book is basically a pocket dictionary/phrase book and assumes the user already knows some Spanish and just needs vocabulary.</p>

<p>McGraw Hill’s Spanish for Healthcare Providers (2nd ed) seems to be well reviewed on Amazon and elsewhere. Book + Cds + practice tests for CME credit. Assumes reader has little or no Spanish language training/background.</p>

<p>Not a bad place to start is “Spanish for Medical Professionals - Core Phrases” mp3 download available on amazon and a few other sites. Has a red cross on the front. Hope this helps.</p>

<p>The are classes for “Medical Spanish” that you can take while in Med. School. You are placed at your level. They are outside of Med. School program. Also, there are opportunities for Med students at some Med. Schools to go abroad to work at clinics primarily as Medkical Spanish translators.</p>
