Medical transport jet crashes in Philadelphia shortly after take off from Northeast Philadelphia Airport (mostly used by business jets and charters – different from Philadelphia International Airport that most commercial flights go to).

I grew up in this area. Our local news is covering nothing else. It is unbelievable how much video there is of this tragedy - dash cans, ring cams, phones etc. It’s just very sad.
The interview I just watched with witnesses was horrific. I am worried about how many people on the ground were killed.
Very little new information coming out. The little girl was treated at Shriner’s hospital. The flight crew and the mother and child were all from Mexico.

Early speculation is that it could have been due to contaminated fuel or to ignition of on-board oxygen as the plane went down in flames.
Plane was registered in Mexico and all 6 on board were Mexican citizens. Mexico has much lower standards for plane maintenance than is acceptable in most developed countries according to news reports. The plane was built in 1981 so structure failure is also an issue as this was a heavily used medi-vac plane.
The US FAA considered that to be the case from 2011-2023, but since 2023 considers Mexico to be in the highest category of aviation safety:
