Medicare Advantage - hmo's, ppo's

My family member is looking at enrolling in a medicare advantage plan and checking out both types - hmo’s, ppo’s. Calling all those here with experience in picking out a medicare advantage plan. family lives in Atlanta, GA area. any recommendations for medicare advantage plans to look at? She is leaning towards the advantage type plans since we are concerned that the medigap supplemental plans are not covered under ACA and could be pricey or not available for her husband who has a pre-existing heart condition. Husband also has access to VA health care. Both are at least 65 years old. thanks for your suggestions.

also, if anyone has information on additional topic…“receiving social security 50 percent spousal benefit while still employed”…that would be helpful too.

A few other threads on this, as several of us are trying to help their parents make medicare decisions by the end of the week.

One concern I see with advantage plans is the high deductible for hospitalizations, also you must stay in network or there is NO coverage. I called a group in my moms town that is listed as a member and was told they are leaving the Aetna Advantage plan for 2014, as the reimbursements are too low.

thanks nj2011mom, would you possibly link the other threads or let me know the titles? thanks !
