The scope of journalism has always been challenging, and with the blogs/twitter/www our journalism students at NU are at the cutting edge of this “new” direction-IMHO.</p>

<p>Her imprisonment really mobilized people on campus and at Medill in particular. Her release came as a surprise to me. I had just yesterday heard that the Iranian courts had agreed to review her sentence and then this. Very welcome news.</p>

<p>I figured she would get convicted to appease to hardliners and then get released - the other 2 reporters held in NKorea otoh…</p>
