Mediocre student with big dreams?

I’ll be a full-time student at the local community college for at least another two semesters before I transfer to a state school in Virginia.
I’m conisdering majoring in Japanese, East-Asian Studies or International Studies. Ultimately I’m consdiering a career in teaching.
I want to use Comm. College as a way to de-emphasize my poor highschool years.
Can I transfer into a good school without getting an Associates?

22 ACT taken my Junior year, no actual studying : /
I never passed Chemistry or anything after Geometry. I’m embarassingly bad at math.
I didn’t always do my homework and that really reflects on my grades. I spent my senior year in two different schools, both different from the one I spent my first 3 years.

I’ve spent the last two years afer high school working full time.
I was a bilingual administrative assitant for 9 months before moving back to VA.
I’m already fluent in Japanese and intend to use college to refine what I already know.

Please advise on some realistic in-state schools with a good program for Japanese.

well…this isn’t realistic considering it is the hardest school to get into in VA, but one of best friends is going to william and mary because it has a great japanese program and also has a sister college in japan.
