Meet Amor Towles, author of A Gentleman in Moscow

I was going to add this to the book club discussion of the book but that thread has been closed. Anyone who would like to attend An Evening with Amor Towles, and who lives in the Haddonfield, NJ area, you’re in luck! It is an event hosted by the wonderful independent bookstore there, Inkwood, and will be held on September 15th at 7 p.m. at the Haddonfield Middle School Auditorium.

So many people love this book, me included! I wish I was going to be in NJ that week so I could attend.

I heard him speak at the Chautauqua Institute last summer. He was a great speaker!

I would love to hear him. It was one of my favorite books that we have read. However, we live too far away.

I have seen him speak. It was actually after his first book, before he wrote Gentleman. I enjoyed his talk very much, he wasn’t “famous” at that point.

MODERATOR’S NOTE: I deleted several posts because the thread was headed in an argumentative direction.

Thank you, @MaineLonghorn for your quick response and thank you @alwaysamom for the event endorsement, as well as a very considerate, very useful and very timely reminder that one should always consider the audience. I am sorry you won’t be there, but I am really tempted to attend this event. New Jersey and New York have a very large, very opinionated and very well read Russian immigrant community. I am sure many of them read this book and would also be interested, so I expect a very engaged, lively and entertaining discussion with Towles. I will spread the word on FB.
