Mega Millions Lottery at $900M - Will you play?

It’s going to be a record $900M drawing tomorrow.

I don’t usually play the lottery, but for that money, I’m going to have to buy a ticket or 5!

I bought 5 tickets yesterday…my first time to do it for a mega million jackpot!

We have a pool at work. And 2 of my former co-workers - we’re in 3 different states now - are buying Mega and PowerBall tickets and agreeing to split the pot! Hey…you never know! LOL

I will definitely play! Best case scenario is that I win a billion dollars (which will probably be close to what the jackpot will be by the time this thing is all over). Worst case scenario is that my miniscule “contribution” helps fund a scholarship.

I bought one for Tuesday’s drawing and will buy one for Friday’s if I happen past a store that sells them and there is not a line. I only buy tickets if the pot is above $500 million. I will not waste my time on the usual chump change

Definitely, the price of that ticket gives you admission to dream about what you would do with the winnings. Like paying to go to the movies. Pay the admission and you get to escape for a few hours. Well worth the price, pay it and enjoy the WHAT IF

My husband buys a few tickets. Then we talk about where our various homes will be, who we will give our business to and if we give all family members the same amount of money. Btw to avoid being outed the money needs to go into a trust, so everyone start thinking up a name for the trust that won’t identify you. Also make sure you put the ticket somewhere safe.

I’ll buy one. We also only play when the jackpot is outrageously high.

A bunch of guys in my Dad’s company’s warehouse pooled every week and bought NY Lottery tkts and they won a very big one. They all showed up to work the next day and none of them quit.

I forgot to buy one this morning. I’ll probably buy a few Mega & Powerball, if I remember to. I only buy them when the jackpot gets ridiculously high.

Just like the Ivy admission lottery, ‘ya gotta play to win’.

Good luck to all.

Just bought a ticket for each of the lotteries.

We rarely buy lottery tickets. But I’m tempted to now. I do love daydreaming about what I’d do with the money!

I only bother playing when the jackpot goes above $500,000.000 , because really who would want to live on a measly 100 or 200 million?, lol.

I’m with the ‘only play when the jackpot is ridiculously huge’ crowd. This counts and I will do it if I remember when I’m out and about. Kind of fun to think about how to spend the $$$$$.

I’ll buy three lines when the jackpot gets high (over $300M or so). For entertainment purposes only … as it has been proven scientifically that I’m more likely to be eaten by a shark driving home than to win the lottery!

Yep. I’m another who plays $10 when the jackpot is huge to enjoy the dream of the foundation I could start and some wrongs that could be helped/fixed with the extra money. That’s my form of splurging. The dream is fun. It’s what I’d love to do with the second half of my life.

At the very least I figure I help someone else fund their dream and the taxes PA takes out is supposed to help older folks with their medical needs - a worthy cause of its own.

BUT, it’s not a choice of buy food or pay the mortgage vs buying lottery tickets. If it were, the lottery tickets wouldn’t happen.

Waste of money! I’d rather buy a candy bar.

I bought a ticket on Tuesday and won $10. I bought another ticket for tomorrow so I am ahead $6. Win!

I was going to buy a ticket on my way home but the 7-11 parking lot was filled with parents picking up their kids from a nearby middle school. So when I don’t win I’m going to blame pre-teens.

When you consider taxes and chance of shared jackpot, it’s still an awful bet at a $900M jackpot. You’d have much better odds in nearly any bet in a casino (assuming reasonable strategy in strategy games). I might participate in a social activity such as a group office buy, but otherwise I would not throw away money like this.
