Megabus or Greyhound??

I need to take a bus to go down to LA in a few weeks, but I’ve never taken a bus here.
Megabus or Greyhound? Both stations are in Oakland.
I will need to take a local bus or bart to get back here in Berkeley from one of the stations around 5-6 in the morning, so I’m wondering which one is safer than the other.
I need to take bart if I use Megabus or take the AC local bus if I use Greyhound.
Which one should I use? Any suggestion?

Can’t really speak for Greyhound, but I’ve only had pleasant experiences with Megabus. It drops you off at public transport junctions on both ends, is cheap, and gets the job done within seven hours.

I would think bart is safer, but I really have no idea about how it’s like in the early morning.

Check this out: [Low Fare Bus offers daily scheduled route bus service between San Francisco, Oakland, San Jose, Sacramento to/from Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Arizona.](http://www.lowfarebus.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=frontpage&Itemid=1)

The schedule ([LowFareBus.com: Departing from Northern California TO Southern California](http://www.lowfarebus.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=3&Itemid=4)) is confusing. But you actually can board at any location on the left and arrive at any location on the right.
