Dr. Gruber claims that one can “unlock” 150,000 words by simply memorizing 2 dozen or so prefixes!

Is that really true? Has anyone tried memorizing prefixes :D?

I don’t think it would harm you in any way to memorize the prefixes. But I think 150,000 is an exaggerated figure. Most of the harder words you encounter use roots in some weird and obscure manner. (so in that sense, your knowledge of roots wouldn’t help you as much as with easier, more logical words)

Bump - has anyone tried memorizing prefixes?

Thanks for your response jimmy :).
