Mental Disabilities, Homebound, Taking Less Than 7 Courses - What to do about college?

I have severe OCD, anxiety, and depression. Because of this, I am currently in a partial hospitalization program. I have missed the last month and a half of school.

There are 6 more credits that I need to graduate (2 science, 2 english, 2 history)…I am currently in 11th grade. I have planning to do one english and one history this year through homebound (school from home), and two science courses online through a summer-school like program (15 weeks long). I’m going to do the remaining english and history over the summer online.

This will give me 4 courses in 11th grade and 2 the summer after. These are all academic level courses. In senior year, I’m planning to do dual and take community college courses as well as get a cosmetology license.

I still want to go to college and get a degree in computer science (I really want to get into UMD - College Park). Is taking less than 7 courses going to impact my chances of getting into college?

I’m no expert, but I would strongly suggest going to community college for 2 years and then transferring to a smaller sized institution. As long as you do your best and get average/above average grades and explain your situation in your writing supplements and essays, you should be good to go. Best of luck to you, I hope everything goes well in your future.
