Mental Health Issues

Like many I’ve changed my user name…

My daughter is in her senior year. She is in the middle of a breakdown. She was bi-polar child and her doctor let her get off her meds 3 yrs ago. She has been doing well until this semester…Then the stress of school loans, getting a job, health insurance and paying bills…and the course load is unbelievable…did her in.

She saw a therapist and doctor today finally. The doctor is putting her back on Lithium. She left the office and 45 mins later had a full panic attack. Her boyfriend has taken her back to the clinic to get other meds and help.

My question is if she is so disabled at this point is there any way I can get involved to try to save her semester academically. Would it be helpful to contact her adviser? I’m just lost at this point. She has worked so hard and it’s spinning out of control…

Contact the Dean of Students’ office right away. They’ll help you/her sort out the options.

Thanks I’ll look that up and call them tomorrow.
