Well, my girlfriend is a freshman at Brown, and that’s where I’m doing ED. I have many reasons why I want to go to Brown, but that one is pretty important too.

Should I mention something about it in my interview? No, I’m not thinking
“Why do you want to go to Brown”
“Well, my girlfriend is there”
But more something like slipping it in somewhere, or just saying it as something extra, another reason why I’d be really happy there.

I know it’s a silly question, but I’m wondering

I would likely avoid it. No matter how it is brought up, it will create the impression that the reason you want to attend is because she is there. And mentioning it otherwise provides no help in getting admitted.

If your gf is another reason that you would be really happy at Brown then breaking up with her could be a reason you would be really unhappy at Brown. Do not mention it.

you could mention the fact that you have a gf, but don’t say its the reason you want to go to Brown - i think interviewers like it when the kids they interview have real lives, and dating is often a part of those lives

I really don’t know for sure but i think the interviewer might ask you himself if anyone you know attends / has attended Brown - in this case you can obviously bring it up
