Mentioning another college in your essay?

Hi everyone!
In my essay I refer to these group of speakers that presented at a local college and was wondering if this would be okay to do? Would it come off as I am interested in this particular college – that I’m not applying to – and not the ones that I’m actually applying too?

I would say that it would indeed appear that way. There must be a way to allude to the event, and the impact of speakers on your consciousness, whether to the positive or negative, without making specific reference to peer institutions or officers.

Just say u attended a forum of a group of speakers. Is it really pertinent to mention that the speakers were doing their speaking at a college?

If u are a guy trying to ask a girl out on a date, do u mention other girls?

Colleges AdComms are adults, not a naive, homely teenage girl.

In any case, the attractive, most popular girl in school who has MANY suitors, isn’t going to be impressed by a guy telling her she reminds him of someone else.
