My son is applying to a selective university. He found on their admissions website an article about an event that he attended. He will be discussing the event and his participation in one of essay and the activities. Even though he was not the focus of the article, the article includes a picture him and a few other students at the event. Is it ok to mention the photo in the extra information as “fun fact”. Or will this backfire ?
Why would that matter to the admissions folks?
Your son should concentrate his application on things about himself…not on a blog picture that just happened to appear someplace.
This is a selective university. Your son hopefully has other things to highlight about himself…I hope.
@thumper1 thanks, I was leaning that way. The article was written by an admission officer from the university present at the event and was a picture of award winners. Yes, he will be writing about his participating in the event in the essay and listing the award in the Award Section…
