Mentioning career goals not directly related to major?

When we are writing our PS prompt about our major of choice, is it okay to talk about how your choice of major will help you in your career of choice, that is not directly related to the major? For example talking about how majoring psychology would make you a better lawyer?
I’m just worried that since the UCs are big into research and creating leaders in fields that saying your going into the major, with no intent to actually work in that field might be perceived badly.

The UCs do love students who want to pursue higher education (graduate studies). If you can make a definitive association between your major and your intended graduate program, then go for it.
