Mercersburg Academy Reached out

So, Mercersburg Academy (my interview who works as an AO) reached out to me saying that they would love to talk to me again. I already had my interview and it went pretty well. Is this a good thing? Should I look into it or did anyone else receive something like this? It’s scheduled for March 8th by the way, 2 days before the results.

Apparently, it can’t be more positive than this since it is the best in Penn, they don’t have time to waste on nothing.

We did not receive any message after we completed all the interviews, even one interview, the interview has a very high position in the school and he asked several times during the interview that if they offered, we would go to that school or not, yet we did not have any communication with any of the schools we applied

At our school this (including timing) usually means a scholarship offer.

Are you the parent? Or the student? Did you apply for financial aid?

If they are interested but don’t have enough aid, sometimes they call parents the day before to make an offer without financial aid. They can turn the acceptance into a rejection as well, to make it easier on the child.

My son is a senior at Mercersburg, but we did not experience anything like this when he applied four years ago. I think there could be several reasons why they have made this request. If you are a high stats candidate, they may be considering you for merit aid, as mentioned above. The school may also be trying to gauge how interested you are in the school, and if you are likely to attend if admitted. Also agree that it could be a financial aid call, if you applied for aid. Mercersburg will not admit a student who they cannot fund. If you applied for aid but do not qualify, they may be calling to say that you would only be accepted as full pay. (Although they usually reach out to parents directly when they make that kind of call.). Best of luck to you! Mercersburg is a wonderful school and I am thrilled that my son has had the opportunity to attend over these past four years!
