@eftennis , you probably are aware of this, but it’s worth noting for anyone looking at this thread.
There is variation from class to class, so one year may have very different college results than another - different kids, different interests, different strengths. I recall one year at DS’ school when 4 kids got into MIT in the ED round. A strong STEM class!
Hooks matter. Many schools near top universities have lots of fac brats. That skews the lists. Athletes skew the list, even more so where there are PGs, and many enrolled in their PG year with solid recruiting interest. Top donors at universities get preference, and these kids are at many schools, but not necessarily everyyear forthe same schools.
When you get to the revisit point, if college placement is a consideration for you, ask what the process is for your (unhooked) kid.
