Merit Aid for 1960 SAT?

Which colleges would offer Merit Aid based on these SAT scores?

Math: 630
CR: 580
Writing: 750

GPA W: 3.8

Need to take advantage of the schools that count the writing section.

Thanks for any suggestions!

That’s going to be a limiting factor since many schools don’t use the Writing section for scholarships. Your M+CR is 1210

Are you a junior? If so, test again…and also take the ACT since your stronger skill will count on that test.

Certainly retest but if you need MERIT, not need-based aid, with those scores, you will need to search for schools that have merit scholarships and have average CR+M scores in the 900s. Google is your friend.

Are you in California? Here are some schools that would offer merit aid on the West Coast based on those scores and GPA:

Whittier
Chapman
Cal Lutheran
University of Redlands
University of the Pacific
Dominican University (CA)
Pacific University (OR)
University of Puget Sound (WA)

Also, University of the Pacific IS NOT the same thing as Pacific University, just saying.

Some of the third tier privates that are around $45-55K a year will give most applicants a $6K “scholarship,” but you are better off taking a prep class or seeing if you can get a higher score on the ACT.
