i am an incoming freshman to brown this year. i am an international student from india. </p>
<p>i am aware that some colleges have “Deans Lists” etcc…where the meritorious students are honoured etc.</p>
<p>Does Brown Have any scholarships, lists, clubs, etc like this ? I am an international, and does this make any difference in the eligiblity for some scholarships etc?</p>

<p>Brown has something of a deans list whereby ppl with different G.P.A’s are sorted into groups. For instance, theres a 4.0 group, 3.9 Group, 3.8 Group and so on. As your G.P.A. declines, you are placed in lower groups where your overall university privileges are gradually reduced. For instance, a 3.3 must require a bathroom pass in order to access the bathroom during class whereas a 4.0 just goes whenever the hell he wants. Oh, by the way, you wear your G.P.A on your sleeve, so everyone can see. At parties, drinks cost about 10 dollars for 3.0 and below but only 5 dollars for 3.0 and up. </p>
<p>There’s a whole list of privileges on their website, but I’m not allowed to access certain pages because I am a 2.9 GPA. But I’m happy, because Brown is a really laid-back environment, where ppl don’t make fun of me to my face when they see my G.P.A. </p>

<p>There are some honors that you can receive here, but none of them have anything to do with scholarship money. As a policy the Ivy League does not offer athletic or merit based scholarship and only offer aid based upon financial difficulty.</p>
