Has anyone received merit scholarship from Notre Dame this year? If so, how much? Did they say why you received it? Our child was not offered any and is considering making an appeal for merit aid. Thank you!
I suppose you can ask…but this is from their site:
“Applicants are encouraged to apply for need-based financial aid if affording the costs of a Notre Dame education would pose a financial hardship. Around 3% of admitted students receive merit aid while need-based financial aid is a possibility for far more students.”
There is also another spot where they say they give 20 merit scholarships. I would imagine those are highly competitive…so without knowing what your student’s application looked like relative to the rest of the applicants…it’s hard to say.

Last year, only 4% of Notre Dame students received merit aid. You can ask, but your chances are not very good. Here is the list of merit aid for most schools: Merit Aid by Institution – College Transitions
