HI guys! I was wondering whether you could provide info on the kind of stats needed to get the top scholarships at these schools. ie Could winners of the scholarships please post their stats, so I can see how I compare.
Thank you!!!
I am not aware of merit scholarships at Bucknell, but I believe they meet 100% of need (as they define it).
Try the net price calculator.
The others do give merit I think, look on their websites for merit scholarship information.
Bucknell does give merit scholarships. Most are partial and not exclusively merit based, such as Presidential Fellowships, Dean’s Scholarships, etc see www.bucknell.edu/scholarships
two Presidential Fellows I know of; 4.0 GPA (unweighted) 5.4-5.6 (weighted); numerous AP classes; 2240-2300 SAT; top 5 in class; “usual” activities, NHS officers, language clubs, mock trial, student magazine, crew, etc. Showing interest may have played into it too, campus visit, opening/responding to emails.
At Trinity U, the top scholarship is not automatic. Students for the top 2 tiers are invited to come for a special weekend and take test/write an essay to determine final winner. Threshold for consideration is around 31 and 3.8 or so. don’t know about others.
my school UW GPA is 3.9 and 4.24 W and my ACT is 34; would I have a good chance at that scholarship? @lz57c4
USCarolina’s Top Scholars invitations are based on holistic evaluation. The essays are very important. Read their website for the basic stat info. Pay attention to application deadlines for all scholarships at different schools. They can be very early.

UofSC also has automatic scholarship for NMF - 6k OOS/10k in-state which can be stacked. Look at admissions page to see average of what stats get what scholarship. Good students get tuition waiver to pay in-state rates but most scholarships are not a specific “this GPA/test score gets X”. Depends on strength of applicant class. Top scholars, noted above, are competitive interview scholarships.
Trinity University is very open about what they do on Merit aid https://new.trinity.edu/admissions-aid/financial-aid/academic-merit-scholarships-first-year-students
