Messed up chance for Haas?

Got a C+ on Math16A – should I even bother applying to Haas lol

Haas is so competitive these last couple of years, it’s murderous. I have a family member who recently graduated from Berkeley with an Econ degree, she was denied with one B- in her app. All As otherwise.

I can’t answer is you should apply or not, in the end that’s up to you.

The average GPA for admitted Haas undergraduates is 3.63 according to the class profile <a href=“Class Profile - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas”>Class Profile - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas; , and the middle 80% range is 3.39-3.93. So it’s definitely worth applying.

I think something about your family member wasn’t told how it really happened lets assume she had 31 units by the fall of her sophomore year, and the B- was in a 4 unit class. B- is 2.7 on Berkeley’s scale, while an A is 4.0
So, 2.7(4 units) + 4.0(27 units) = 118.6 then do 118.6/31= 3.83 GPA. >>>>>>> I am not saying your family member is lying to you, but there might be “more” to her story, as that GPA is in the top 20% who apply to Haas.
