Hi everyone,
I’m a fourth year art major looking to eventually enroll in graduate school. That being said… for an MFA, could fantastic CV and portfolio make up for an okay/average GPA? I’ve had some tumultuous circumstances that made school difficult but I’ve managed to not fail out. How do MFA programs weigh grades?
That would be a question for your academic advisor and your instructors (most if not all of whom will have an MFA). You might check the websites of your schools of interest as well or speak to them about how they view your transcript. It also matters where your poor grades are; studio course grades might weigh in differently than gen eds. or liberals.
