MFA at MICA vs SAIC

Hi,

I got accepted into Mount Royal School of Art’s Multidisciplinary MFA with a merit scholarship and SAIC’s MFA in Writing with no scholarship for Fall 2020 and I am waiting to hear from Bard College’s MFA Writing program. My practice is super interdisciplinary with text as a foundation.

I think I’d like to focus on learning different mediums while strengthening what I already know. I am very conflicted about how each program’s structure/ faculties/ facilities/ career trajectory/ environment will shape my multidisciplinary practice.

(( I have always thought of myself to be not a city girl, but I am not sure how high I should place that when I am deciding between the two. ))

I would love to hear your experiences, advice, and suggestions!

A big thank you in advance!!

How are you going to pay for your MFA? You want the program that will leave you with the least amount of debt.

Contact the departments. Ask them to put you in touch with recent graduates. Ask lots and lots and lots of questions when you communicate with those graduates. They are the people who are best positioned to let you know where you might be after you finish the program.
