My daughter also got in with merit, we are from NJ, and we are jewish and she is used to a diverse student body at her HS, she definitely doesn’t want to be the only jewish kid (we aren’t even religious, but is a community that is important to her). She has mostly asian friends so she is very turned off by the homogeneity. That said, she said she would visit and see if it felt any different than it looks on paper.

I do know there is a pretty sizable jewish contingent at Miami with an active Hillel. My daughters best friend she met at Miami is jewish and actively involved in jewish campus life.
