Michael Jackson

Anybody there?

Awwww man…

I’m thinking of where I was when Marvin Gaye died…

Oki… 95 views… No comments… Privacy… I’ve stopped crying for a moment… anybody out there with "Thriller"and before memories? Sob…

We’re all discussing him in the “Michael Jackson is Dead” thread, Shrinkwrap.

OK I’ll give you a few of my MJ memories.

I live in Detroit. The area I lived in was heavily populated my Motown artists. Marvin Gaye lived 2 blocks away, on the corner.

So anyway 1st one. One day my dad was late getting home from work. When he got home he said he got got in a traffic jam because of a motorcade. Well, it was the Jackson 5 heading to the Michigan Stated Fair. The streets had been blocked off to let them through. Dad actually saw the limo. When he told me, I was beside myself and insanely jealous…How could Daddy see them and not me??? even if it was just the limo - lol

The other story was a schoolmate was on her way home(her route was past Marvin Gaye’s house). As she was walking by, a limo pulled up and out popped the Jackson 5. She just joined the entourage and entered the house lol.

And yes I dragged my best friend to the 1984 Victory tour. I actually stood in a ridiculously long line for tickets. I am not ashamed. Good Times : )

Now back to spontaneous tears. And oh my the radio stations.!!!

Thanks you guys! Yeah, I saw the other thread after I started this one, but wanted to focus on his life (especially his “Thriller” and before phase!) and not his death.

I’m fine now…
