I’m a sophomore in high school, and I decided to pursue Engineering (Aero or Mech). My ideal schools are UMich, Purdue, Rutgers, and UC Berkeley. So I was wondering how is Michigan Engineering, and how is it compared to my other choices? Also, how is life in UMich? Lastly, how competitive is the tennis team at UMich?
Thank You in Advance
Are you from in state? UMich CoE is getting really competitive particularly for OOS students. All the engineering programs there are top notch with only one just barely outside of the top 10. For Aero and ME, Purdue is also very good. Your decision may depend on acceptance and cost. Note that UMich (and UCB) are very expensive for OOS students. Purdue is more affordable and a little bit easier to get merit aid.
@billcsho No, i’m from new jersey. Although Rutgers is in New Jersey, I would prefer something out of state.
For CoE at UMich, the CoA for OOS is $55k to $60k (if >55 credits) currently. The cost keep going up every year.
