As many of you are now reaching the point or soon will be (if not at least by 1 April) of deciding where to go, I just wanted to share with you one key aspect of Michigan, which is largely why I chose to matriculate, that sets it apart from other fine academic institutions with strong athletic programs. Out of every college I visited, the place where I saw the most school pride was Michigan. Nearly everyone I saw had on some item if Michigan clothing, and everyone to whom I talked said that they were proud to call themselves wolverines. Although we have the quietest stadium in the country, to see everyone’s arms go up in the big house (and crisler arena :)) for THE VICTORS, is amazing. At no other school, except maybe for Notre Dame, but they have right wing, racist alumni that make poorly-thought-out decisions (my friend who goes there and has a lot of connections there said that his parents told him the alumni questioned tyrone’s hiring from the beginning and immediately wanted him fired after the michigan game of the second season and pressured the athletic dept. to do so), will you find such pride and tradition. The wolverine simply isn’t a mascot; it’s a mindset.

Good threat Nirvana. I would add one detail to your paragraph. The reason Michigan’s stadium is quiet is because the design of the stadium allows noise to escape. Michigan’s Big House is cavernous and simply does not hold noise. I prefer it that way. Nothing worse that a noise football game.
