Hi! Son applied before September. Kinda figured he’d have heard one way or the other by now. His stats aren’t great but they’re def not awful. OOS.

lol he just got accepted today. It was in his portal. No email so far though I anticipate it’ll be coming. Does anyone know how the exploring business works? I don’t believe my child would qualify for direct admit to broad.

My S25 applied September 8th and got an acceptance today too - must be a batch admitted today! He has pretty high stats (3.96 UW/4.86 W GPA, ACT 34, SAT 1520), so we are eager to hear about scholarships, honors program, etc as that is what would make MSU an appealing choice. He is a math major, so I don’t know anything about business.

Congrats! It seems like a solid university so he’s excited. It’s still so early in the process so idk where he will end up but def will give msu serious consideration.

Congratulations everyone! My daughter is a senior at MSU, so ask away if you have any questions.

Her major is Food Science, with a minor in beverage technology and a few concentrations I can’t remember right now. MSU makes it easy to have multiple majors and minors, since a lot of classes count for more than one area if you plan it right.

MSU is also big on internships. My daughter’s second internship this past summer, with Pepsi, resulted in a full-time job offer before the first day of classes!

It’s a beautiful campus with very helpful staff (especially considering its size). You’ll love it here.

Mine? So far no. I doubt he will get much offered if any at all. His gpa is approx 3.3 and he went test optional. Though his high school is known to be extremely rigorous but I don’t think that matters for scholarship purposes.

Actually i take that back. He got a presidential study abroad scholarship but that’s not exactly a big deal from what I can gather since it doesn’t really take off money from the tuition bill, right? I don’t fully understand it.

I don’t think mine did, but I’m not 100% sure. He just sent me a screenshot of the admission message in the portal, and I’m not sure if it would have been there, or if he needs to poke around elsewhere. He just left for a multi day college visit trip with Dad to see a few schools on his list that he hasn’t seen yet. I’ll have to ask him about it when he gets back.

My understanding of the study abroad scholarships is that they help pay for study abroad should you pursue it, but it’s kind of a nothing if you don’t. Mine got a study abroad scholarship and never went, so it counted for nothing. It’s a nice gesture, but if you have no study abroad plans it doesn’t help anything.

Hi - the merit was in a different tab. I think it was called scholarships and financial aid or something like that. It wasn’t in the actual letter itself.

Son still didn’t get an email even though his portal showed acceptance last night. Weird?

Congrats to those who have been accepted! Can you share when you submitted vs. heard a response? Also for those who are OOS, can you share scholarship $ and stats? My son is applying to the James Madison College. Thanks!

Still no email! Lol. Is that odd?
