It’s time for some furniture upgrades in our home. I tend toward eclectic design. We have some pieces period probably to our current home age (1920’s) but mixed with more MCM leather pieces as well as thrifted pieces and some modern touches.
In the process of updating 3 rooms - living room, dining room chairs, master bedroom. I’ve selected a couple pieces for the living room but am on the hunt for a MCM (vintage or new replica) coffee table. Also am looking for MCM chairs (4) which I want to pair with 2 different end table chairs (2).
Anyway, thought it would be fun to share your favorite vintage or new MCM pieces or decorating tips. For new pieces, websites/stores you have found pieces you love. I’m personally looking at some moderately priced pieces. I am looking at Article for MY new living room chair and like their styling.
Feel free to post links, share your favorite spots to look for vintage pieces or post personal photos of your fav MCM pieces.
I also like MCM. I am currently on the hunt for a dining table and chairs. I have looked at Article and Design Within Reach, but I am not really impressed with the quality of the tables. The older ones are just so much better. I missed out on one at a local vintage shop - they had a cash & carry customer that stopped in right after they posted it to their Facebook page. I keep watching … I follow Instagram pages for the vintage furniture stores in Michigan. I don’t mind taking a drive for something good! I like smaller fabric dining chairs, so I will probably get those new. There are so many sites for MCM dining chairs (including Wayfair).
I watch Craigslist, and I do check out Facebook Marketplace. Chairish is good site for used MCM.
For new MCM, Design Within Reach is great, but expensive. Room & Board has nice MCM style furniture, as well. I purchased MCM style furniture for my living room last year … sofa and chair custom ordered from Flexsteel, and a couple accent chairs from Uttermost. My local interior shop helped me select the furniture and fabrics.
I worked at the birthplace of MCM design, and I certainly value real Florence Knoll sofas and Eames chairs … but I am not in a position to buy those. We have a couple local vintage stores that have this kind of furniture, and a girl can dream!

@kelsmom, I know you are in Michigan. Are you on Instagram? If so, follow Retro Rescuers - she is in Clinton Twp I think? She will sell via Instagram postings but also opens her garage/warehouse for a few hours on the weekends. I haven’t been but may go sometime.
I’ve also set up some alerts on FB Marketplace for local within an hour of me. If I go too far out I’ll get lost in posts!
I’ll check out a few sites you mentioned. If you have any stores you particularly like in the Southwestern Michigan area let me know! I’m an hour south from Detroit.
Yes, I follow Retro Rescuers! I have not been to her warehouse yet, but I watch her postings on a regular basis. I love Vogue Vintage in Ferndale - great stuff at great prices. ModMart in Clawson is good (although the prices can be a little high), and Mad4Mod in Farmington has great stuff. I just discovered Off Skate Vintage in Grand Ledge, and she has wonderful finds for great prices. Another place I recently discovered is Retro Attics in Bay City.

Look at you, you’re a treasure trove!!!
I’m a big fan of MM. Our house is a boring 1950’s ranch, but we have added MM details where we could. Sadly there isn’t a lot of classic used furniture here in Colorado.
I get my fix by following an old friend’s store on instagram in Athens GA called Starlight. He has a real talent for finding great stuff at estate sales.
