Mid Level Achievers!

Hey guys, anyone out there like me? Not low achieving but not SUPER star material? Do we have any chance at UPenn (1st choice) or any Ivies?

Stats

GPA : ~3.8 unweighted
Rank : top 2-3% of 889 (ranked from 7 to 30, my schools’ rankings screwy)
Ethnicity : Chinese
EC’s : President/Founder of Table Tennis Club, Mu Alpha Theta Prez, Stuco Rep, Interact, Young Dems. of America, JV Tennis since Sophomore, Overseas Chinese Affairs Commission Class 8 President, NHS
SAT : Not Taken
PSAT : Possibly a Merit Scholar
Essays : Crappy writer :frowning:
Counselor : Loves Me
Teachers : Iffy but probably a 7/8 outta 10.
Probably trying out for Princeton or UPenn Table Tennis (They have very good teams).

Anyway out there with mid level grades and EC’s get into an Ivy? I can’t really boast any insane nat’l awards or even state level awards. Encouragement would help
realitysucks is online now

dude. arent you like, a 10th grader? I thought I saw you say that in another thread

SO much can change between middle of 10th grade and two years from then, from class rank to where you want to go.

chillax kiddo, chillax.

I was pretty average and I got in, so don’t stress yourself out right now. Have fun now, worry later and like Eckie mentioned, as time changes, so do your interests. Who knows, you might fall in love with another college somewhere down the road.

Why Are You Stressing As A Sophomore!!!

this girl is stressing me out… I’m in grade 12 and I don’t even care about all that stats stuff anymore

amen combat, amen

haha im a junior, but still, got a long ways to go. no nat’l awards :-(

um ok i had basically NO awards except for natl merit commended and some stupid ones, let alone national ones, and i got in…

i didnt even know where i wanted to go to college until like 8 months ago

I had no national awards other than the regular NMS Semifinalist, AP Scholar, etc. and I got in too! There aren’t 10,000 national award winners to fill up the Ivies with, so plenty of normal people like me get in :)
