Update. I had my interview a few days back and it went pretty well. It was kind of short but very concise. I’m very happy with my interview and feel lucky to have received one–most of my friends have not even been contacted yet! I guess I learned a lesson: take the interview!

I havent been contacted for an interview yet…I’m a bit worried, to be honest, so I hope I’ll be contacted soon.

to answer the texas person’s question, yes, i’ve been contacted for an interview, and i’m from houston. i was notified by e-mail in january. what part of texas are you from?

im from the houston area! now i feel worried!!!

For those of you who haven’t had an interview yet, I think Penn received so many applications this year, they have had trouble scheduling interviews for everyone.

I’m an alumnus, and was sent a packet from the school a couple of weeks ago wanting to know if I would be willing to conduct alumni interviews for the school. I volunteered to do this, and was almost immediately contacted by someone from Penn, who sent me a packet of information and the names of four applicants to interview.

So if you haven’t been contacted for an interview yet, I wouldn’t take it personally.

Also, for the poster who has had trouble getting a hold of the person who’s supposed to interview them, don’t give up. Be polite but persistent. One of the things Penn is interested in is how enthusiastic you are about the school, so I think going the extra mile to set up an interview can only help you. I suspect most alumni who do these interviews are like me - they love Penn, want to give something back to the school and really enjoy meeting you guys. However, we also have families, jobs, and other committments and are schedules can be pretty tight.
