So how much weight does the mid-year report and interview have in the admissions process?

when in the world do we do the interview?..lol im still waiting to be notified if they want to interview me…

interviews r not so improtant, i think since not everyone gets one. the mid-year report is just used to make sure your grades r still pretty stable compared to the rest of ur yrs in high school, but if ur grades r a’s and a couple of b’s, i don’t think it’ll make any difference

I still haven’t heard anything from Penn. I’ve gotten conformation and heard from interviewers from 4 other ivies, but not penn.

My son has not yet been contacted for an interview. He was wondering what to do. It is good to see that he is not the only one.

My interviewer notified me a day ago by email and I was just wondering if I should take the interview or let it go. Any thoughts?

i thought midyear was suposed to b the best ever in high school

I still don’t even know if they have my applications, let alone an interview.

The only time you should turn down a request for an interview is if you have absolutely no desire to go to that school.

Yeah, why would not take an interview? All my interviews have gone great and have been a great way for me to show my personality.

It’s your choice about taking the interview.

I had one and it seemed to be more informative than evaluative, but it was a good experience for me. I like showing my personality, so I was grateful that I received an interview.

Well, this is my second interview and the first one kind of turned me off from interviews–maybe it was just a bad first experience. Maybe the second time will be a charm? I decided to take the interview after a talk with some of my friends that already had their Penn interview, it’s pretty ‘chill’ from what they say! Hopefully all will turn out well! By the way, any other inputs on how much the Mid-year is weighted?

i havent been contacted 4 an interview yet.
has anyone from texas recieved an interview yet?

i had an interview this weekend…it was very informal we just casually talked. the woman is from the santa barbara area of CA

if we don’t get contacted for interview, can we ask the alumni for an interview?
there’s a link for finding local alumni

seriously, has anyone from texas been contacted for an interview yet? i’m worried

i have a friend who was contacted for her Penn interview. My other friend called Penn and I think they told her not everyone gets an interview.

My interview was awesome. The guy was really nice and informative. Penn has moved up on my list (if I get in).

I had my inteview today. My lady was so nice!! It’s actually her first year doing interviews, so she brought along the Penn interview package that they send to their alums and whipped out the sheet with the questions on it. She didn’t ask me all the questions, but I thought I did relatively well…
The only hard question was “What do you want to tell me that you didn’t say in your application?” and I was kind of like I wrote 7 essays for Penn… I pretty much said it all… but anyway, she was very nice about everything.
Hopefully it will help me.
we’ll see!!!

Goodluck everyone who has their interview soon!!

regarding the midyear report…

for deferred ppl I think it counts a lot…

this is a FAQ for deferrees:

“Should I send additional letters of recommendations or other supplementary materials?
The most important component to your application is your high school transcript. Therefore, your mid-year grades will be an essential element of the deliberation.”
